about Spazuzu

Zuleide “Zuzu” Becker is a Brazilian beautician born in the Amazonian State of Maranhao. The daughter of indigenous clay artisans, her early experiences with her “hands in the mud” helped hone her unique Esthetic skills. Zuzu moved to Rio de Janeiro as a teenager where after she earned scholarships to some of the best Brazilian Universities and advanced medical clinics. Her 23 years of skin care experience began under the mentorship of Dr Elias Azulay, a pioneer of Brazilian Dermatology, and continued in partnership with other prominent Rio plastic surgeons.

In 2017, Zuzu moved to New York, bringing her innate knowledge of indigenous cures as well as her vast expertise in the areas of post-operative scarring, vitiligo, cellulite reduction, permanent make-up, & countless other areas of aesthetic repair. Her Chelsea based spa also houses a state of the art infrared sauna that aids in the reduction of inflammation and skin rejuvenation. She lives in Manhattan with her American husband Steve and her Tibetan dog Pimento.
